The World Without Us by Alan Weisman - sort of an essay, not too ranty or greenie, despite its subject matter, about what would happen if the human race were to suddenly vanish from the planet. An interesting read. I stupidily loaned it to someone - whom I now cannot recall, and have no idea where it is - I would love to read it again.

But if you're referring to that whole homo thing, I really do think that whole theory is a pernicious attack on the credentials of a truly excellent writer. I fucking hate the way gays do that. Create (dubious) lists of famous homos, as if to show how awesome gays are, but impliedly reducing all their achievements to a mere manifestation of their homosexuality. Why can't they just recognize good people for being good at stuff? The same false reasoning is oft used in the "But Hitler and Stalin were atheists!!!1one" argument.

i read mostly sci-fi books cause why do i want to read about the same problems as i have.. reading is for escape. although i do read a fair few history books (war history for the most part) cause i love the past
