Yes. They exist, almost to the point of mania. There are those who scan over every detail written into the stories and attempt to reconcile them into real-life. Those who attempt to locate 221 Baker, or fret over the mystery as to why Dr. John Watson's wife would call him 'James' instead in the beginning of "The Man with the Twisted Lip".
We are talking about detective stories. Those who read them may fancy themselves as detectives, too. Little details become clues, a collection of clues becomes a theory, and arguing over theories becomes a mad obsession we now call the "Sherlockians". Then again, there are those who imagine him running along fog-shrouded London streets with a clay pipe dangling from his lips whilst wearing a loud chequered cloak and deerstalker cap, then think of themselves as knowledgeable fans.
