New forums!

I've been hoping to get this software installed for quite some time. So here it is! As you can see I haven't had a chance to customize it yet, but expect to slowly see the forums transform as time goes on, as the UBB version of gaters.net did. I am thinking of going for a simpler design this time, not much different to how it is now. Hopefully you won't find this new forum harder to use. I believe there are a few more features pre installed here that the last forum didn't have, or that I had to manually code in. The reason for the downtime recently was because gaters.net grew to twice the allowable size, and the webhost didn't appreciate that. Don't worry I have a backup of all the old gaters.net threads, and may one day put up a searchable archive of some kind containing them all. Anyway, this forum software stores all it's threads in a mySql database, so I think that should make it faster than the old one. It also keeps you logged in for longer, so you don't have to retype your username. HTML, and images in your signatures are turned on, so give them a try.

I'd like to give a shout to oFFal, nug, Galen, marleen, Jaffa Kree, Goauld, Ktog, mac and indiana to sign up so I can get some moderators on the forums. Come on guys!

Oh, and spread the word about Gaters.net! We had over 700 members last week, so let's try to get them back and register again!

Ok, after my 2nd registration on here I can finally post

I presume you reset the database so we didnt have to confirm registration?

Looks good.... I'll moderate the forums I was on beforehand. It's all good. Need a hand with VBulletin, I'm here as well.

Just as a warning, as I said before - keep an eye on the polls. They can get out of hand if you're not careful.

Nice new layout, but I can't wait untill it gets customozed again. And is there any way that we can retrieve old threads that were going on in the past couple of days?

I'm almost positive you couldn't retrieve/convert threads because UBB is Perl and VBulletin is mySQL.

Keeper said he may be making an archived version though... but this is sort of like a fresh start.

Of course I may be wrong
