It cant be the online thing man. The MP3's I have are still the same, so it should play them the same.
I shouldnt need to upgrade anything if the technology i use is the same. |

It's definitely not a graphics card problem.
It could be sound card related, as Bose said, update your sound card drivers. |

Could indicate that your hard drive is about to give up the ghost, or if your BIOS has for whatever reason reset, you may be running the hard drive in PIO mode rather than DMA, so I'd check there too.

you might also want to try to defrag you drives, get all of your shit in the same places so your hard drive doesnt need to work as hard

alright. my computer is relativly new and still in warenty.. but frankly i dont want to be without it for 6 moths while they fuck around a fix it.
the problem - about 80% of the time when i try to start the computer with a disk in the drive my computer gets to the start of windows then i hear the CD spin and the computer restarts. alternativly if it has started correctly and i put a disk inot the drive, when it starts to be read the computer shuts down. im running vista home basic and have an LG DVD+R/CD+RW drive is it somthing as simple as the drive's jumpers pins are telling the computer to try and boot frm it or somthing like that or somthing more complicated

When you say you get to the start of windows what do you mean? Do you mean you see the Windows progress bar or the logon screen? If you see either of them it wont be a jumper problem, that would prevent the whole system from booting altogether. Does it reboot when you dont have a cd in the drive? Is it always the same CD?

Ok, so when there is no disk in the drive it works fine? You got another dvd/cd drive to plug into it? Did anything change recently - power blackout/spike, new cd drive and what brand? Brand can sometimes be important as some brand name PCs come with a utility partition that can become corrupt causing windows to confuse it with the cd drive and getting all messed up. Sorry for all the questions but for something like this I kinda like to have all the info before I go spouting whats wrong with it.
