I just don't see that political/religious discussions such as this one

are gonna work on these forums. we're all sort of all over the world, and a lot of stuff people have said there have offended me, and I'm sure if I posted what I really thought, would probably piss everyone off too.
So I'm just gonna post silly pics to throw people off thinking about the flame bait that lies there.

Anyways, I'll tell you what I think here, I don't want to say it on the thread.
My take is that I thought Stargate fans would be a little open minded, and at least try to consider both sides of the situation. From the arguments I've seen on that thread, it feels more like political propaganda, not a discussion. No one is going to "win" here, hence why I think it's probably just going to turn into flaming... especially if I get involved...

lol, very mature of you Goa'uld... I agree, i dont ever want to get invloved in 'world politics' debates, tho making fun of John Howard is open game, i cant find anyone that likes him :P

But i guess you cant stop it or censor it, cause everyone is entitled to their opinion and stuff, so.. just let them fight it out, i guess.

I agree that as intelligent Stargate fans, we should be more open minded. I mean, the show deals with this kinda stuff all the time, the whole 'who is right' debate, seen in countless episodes, like 'the other side', 'red sky', 'scorched earth' as just a few examples; and people seem willing to take both sides in those kind of arguments..

I guess because this is real life now, people are more passionate and unwilling to see 'the other side' as it were.. The best we can do is just sit back and watch, and when flaming happens, get them on that, not their actual opinions. Just make sure we make that clear..

Mac, I locked it because it had NOTHING to do with the Australian Election anymore. When I looked at the last page it was FILLED with posts about George Bush and the Taliban. If they want to talk about that, fine, but start another thread.
