As for the sequence in the sfx, (does a marge simpson hmmm)..well, I cant really explain it, because its just sfx that they reuse everytime, it shouldnt take any time to travel througha wormhole anyhow, it should be instantaneous, at least in our timeframe......eh, bah!

shades of grey shows that it's instantanus travel when jack steps through to that planet, the camera pans as if both stargates are joined together, and he just steps from one side to the other.

Thats why I am intrigued by this BEC idea of wormhole/stargate tech. THe BEC forces a "synchronisation" between 4D Spacetime that we perceive, and the QV, in which the concept of time is meaningless, at least to us, so therefore the trip does seem instantaneous.
