latly i have been playing with the consept of modding the game comandoes 2 into a stargate game
the reason i picked it was because it is already a team game and you can have troop support, plus ther is mo game and i realy realy want one*jumps up and down*

would any one want one too, and if so would you help me mod it??

I've got to script up a mission and map in Starcraft to mimic a SG-1 mission one of these days. There are plenty of similarities to draw upon. Even some of the props look quite similar. Here's a preliminary view:


SG-1 confronts a Goa'uld System Lord and four Jaffa escorts right after passing through the Stargate.

half life has plenty of mods for it. i was gonna get it but my local "Game" shop said "oh yeah, we'll get you a copy in" but never did.

In the game of Starcraft, it's called a Warp Gate, and storywise, it's just like the Stargate. Technically, it's just a prop in the game and doesn't do anything directly.

However, in Starcraft, you can write up missions and create battleground maps that do any variety of things. It is possible to script up a mission where you can "gate in" new forces through this Stargate/Warp Gate thing. I can, for instance, set the game to create new soldiers at the Stargate location whenever a player has a certain amount of their forces in the area.

The best thing is, you can insert your own speech files for certain characters to say at key events in the mission. This way, you can actually make your SG-1 team "talk" when they have to confront something. Stuff like Jack saying, "Oh, fer cryin' out loud." when a particularly nasty and tough enemy appears, or Sam spouting some technobabble at a locked door, seconds before Jack blasts it open. Or Teal'c telling O'Neill that, "...in order for this to work, we will have to hold hands." The faces won't match, but the voices, at least, will be able to.

There are several stargate games out there, based on Half-Life and Tribes2 etc...

Not as such. They are mods (modifications), which are add-ons for existing computer games (such as Half-Life, Quake, etc). They basicly add new weapons, missions, skins and stuff to the game, to enable you to play Stargate.

At the moment MGM has no plans for an offical Stargate game to be made, although I remember one based on the movie being released for the Super Nintendo back when i had one... although i never got it for some reason .

Anyway, a good example of a Half Life mod for stargate can be found here . It's a German site, but has english text (although when i visited the first story was in German .

At the end of the movie at the credits near the end round about were the soundtrack stuff usually is and the location bit it should say play the game by Activison I think it's Activision.
