Just noticed somthing

i was just reading thought the transcript of the chat with joe mallozzi and i noticed this

HOODATW: Thank you, Joe, for your time! Jack fans have long wondered if he is really Hammond's second-in-command. Any chance we'll get an "official" answer in Season 7?
J_MALLOZZI: No official answer, although if Hammond were to retire, there's a strong possibility that Jack could take over command of the base.

is that a hint that Hammond may retire

No, it just measn that if Hammond retires then Jack would be put in command of the base, but then again Hammond did retire and he was replaced by a guy with a Major Vitamin D definciency.

yeah...and a staff weapon where teh sun don't shine... but why would a Colonel replace a 2 star general? the most logical person would be a 2 star, or at least a one star...not a colonel...unless it was incase of emergency in which Jack would probably be running through the gate with the rest of his team to save the world (again)

BTW how many times have they saved the world from total distruction. I know Teal'c mentioned it in one episode...

well we've seen jack as a commander of the base before and he could get promoted... altough it'd suck cos no more or very few excursions through the gate for him

I'd hope they'd kick him his first star:

Brigadier General Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill, USAF Commanding

Has an interesting ring to it...

Depends what you classify as saving the world... the entire world or the world as we know it?

Also, can you count stuff that others aswell as SG1 helped to save.. what about diseases, what about stuff that SG1 or humans caused in the first place? etc.

And what about just individual members, like Oneill saving a portion of earth in the movie.

Isn't that a bit unrealistic as far as the military goes? I mean, a Colonel can't just be promoted upto a General can they? As we saw when Hammond was replaced (can't remember which one) another General would take over, as when West left he was replaced by Hammond, esp. in such an important facility as the SGC...

I thought it was a pretty stupid question... does someone want to start a rumour about Hammond or something?? I could think of better questions.
