and it cant have been a sheild that was from dead mant switch cause that was blue when hit and and the one in enimies wasred when touched

The color of the shields may have been stylistic at first, but I do see a trend with those blue shields.

When we first see Apophis use a shield (in "The Nox"), the color was gold. Gold happened to be Apophis' banner color when he was the Serpent God. I mean, the guy loved gold, and the shield did not clash with his style.

When we saw Sokar use the same sort of shield (in "The Devil You Know"), the color was red, and again, seemed to be fitting Sokar's satanic style. Naturally, Apophis' new shield retained the red color when he took up Sokar's stuff.

But in the cause of blue shields, like you say, the ones used by Aris Boch (in "Deadman Switch") and Hathor (in "Into the Fire") ignored that velocity factor, and the fields behaved as solid walls even against slow objects. In both cases, the color tone was blue (scientifically, you could account for that as a severe blue-shift of visible light as the shield repels stuff much stronger than usual).

As to your original question, maybe Apophis upgraded the shield, or maybe the strange energy of the Replicators would have repelled them off the shield.

Maybe the shield isn't proprtinional to velocity, it's just a plain shield. I mean if theres a mine floating gently thru space, you wouldn't want it to go thru your shield... If you get what I mean?

They have shown two types of shield in stargate,the one whos repulsive power is proportional to the velocity of the projectile attempting to penetrate its perimeter, and ones which effectively use up large amounts of power and are on all the time.... stop everything... as was mentioned in into the fire.
Clearly after getting shafted by sg1 several times, a pop quiz decided to opt for a personal shield that was constantly on, or maybe he just flipped tha always on switch! geeze louise guys! As for the colour, bah!

Maybe the sheild's sheilding capicity has something to do with pressure aswell as velocity.
I can't remember but the sheild in Into the fire, was that a personal sheild or a bigger one Rhydderech? If it was a big one maybe the velocity is only a factor in the personal sheilds.

The shield in "Into the Fire" was the big one surrounding the Stargate outside of Hathor's base.

as much as you'd all like to pretend, this isn't on topic.


now, to do with the shields - obviously Apop-quiz has learnt from his previous encounters with SG-1, and modded his shield to a full-sheild, instead of a velocity based one. The power output may be huge, but then they are based on naquadah powercells, right? Which are better then nuclear power, we are led to believe. This would mean that he could pretty much hold off the Replicators indefinately - in theory.. of course, he'd whither and die before then without a sarc, or the replicators would just entrap him in a repli-cell-block until he got so weak he let go of the hand device powering the sheild, then just gobble him up, or *gasp* they could all be destroyed by ploughing into a planet...

Would a personal shield like that be able to withstand a head on collision with a planet, do you think..? (serious question, btw)

it's possible his modified shield even protected him from the blast from the ship crashing into the planet.

Did it actually show Apophis' ship blowing up? And even then, he could move while the shield was up, coldn't he? So he could use the transporter rings?

And even if he was trapped on a planet with the reps, would they try to kill him? 'Cos he's no threat to them, it's unlikely he'll attack them. Are they intelligent enough to realise that in the ship he gave the order for them to be attacked?
