I'm still very new to SG-1 and its fanfic, so I was hoping that maybe someone could come up with a list of classic "must-reads" for me. I love the awards site, but I was hoping for some even older stuff, too. Any suggestions?

Oh, and I'll read anything except slash.

I never read fanfic until one afternoon manning the phones at work, when no one was calling - started trolling the net out of bordom, read one, then another, soon I was hooked. A good percentage are pretty awful, but some are very, very good. The trick is avoiding the bad and finding the good.

Angelique, the award site has older stories too. Nominations aren't based on year published or anything like that, so there are stories that are 5 years old on the nomination list.

The best archives are Heliopolis http://www.sg1-heliopolis.com and Stargatefan http://www.stargatefan.com. Heliopois is *huge*, and their search engine is currently not working but you can still access alphabetical by title or author. There's no slash on either of those sites. Helio has a separate "adult" page for the slash and the graphic sex; Stargatefan doesn't take those stories at all.

You couls go to search.msn.com and enter 'Fanfic for Stargate SG-1' in the search box, that's what I do.

I reccomend any Jonas bashing ones. Not that I don't like Jonas or anything.....

I dont think they have many Jonas ones yet. heliopolis hasn't posted any new stories for soooooo long! stargatefan might have some tho.
