At that moment, several staff blasts strafed past SG1's flank, one of them was actually aimed properly for once and caught O'neill square in the chest... The rest of SG1 returned fire and several sneaky Jaffa were quickly dispatched.

To detect the most critical time for the weapon to function and send it astray.
