Stargate: The Directors Cut DVD

Wow... those who chat to me on MSN will know that I haven't been able to find a copy all week... and just when I gave up I noticed one in WH Smiths.

So, after an hour trying to assemble the pyrimid i'm ready to watch it... if only the DVD/Comp wasn't in the same room as my dad.... damn

Let me know what it's like. Is that the one with the commentary on with Roland Emmerich or something?

It's Ferretti. His name is Ferretti and man he is so much better than Bremt Stait! French Stewart for Ferretti!

Yeah, but that's downstairs... and my Dad's watchin the Bond film on TV (dunno why cos I've got it on video)... I managed to take a look at the menus and the photo gallery.

I like the menu, the event horizon in the gate mixes through different pics from the movie, looks real cool... but it looks like the SG-1 gate (with the red chevrons).

The photo gallery has some good pics in... some good behind the scenes stuff, but would have been better with some captions saying who was who, etc.

The very first thing I won was Tracy Island (the island from Thunderbirds)... i was soooo excited when i got it

Anywhoo....

Well guys, I've just seen the film, trailer and promo reel (i'm leaving the commentary until tomorrow night as it's now quarter to two in the morning).

I've gotta say, the cut scenes were pretty good, I don't want to go into much detail, but there are some neat shots crammed in there too.

The trailer is pretty good, it's... just... a... normal... movie trailer.

The promo reel is something else. It basicly just shows some of the scenes before post production, like the scene where Ra uses his hand device on the Jaffa to throw him across the room, which we see but without the effects added in.

Erm... so all in all pretty good.

And i love the menus

The trailer is amazing. i had it on .mov but it oh so much more special on the dvd. The promo reel if you noticed had a lot of shots that were not in the movie as well. And why am I sitting on the floor writing this?

Gravity. Lack of a chair. Comfiness (it beats standing and is that a word?).
On a similiar note why am I letting a certain little fur ball wiggle it's way behind me and try(and suceed) to push me off my chair?

Well, maybe in evolution, we passed through the stage of being furry (but lets not go there), so it was there first, too!

Although we have photoshop at college for DTP work, I haven't really used it all that much, so I can't comment on that :P

yeah, there was that shot where they were turfing out the technicians from the gate room, i wanted to see where abouts in the film that took place, and why they were being turfed out, but it never showed or told us.

At the moment it's only out on DVD, and i think it's gonna stay like that. But it may come out on VHS someday when we're all old and decrepid
