Timeouts.
Just thought, doesnt really happen much, but how about timeouts...
If a thread ever becomes infested with Flaming etc, then lock it for a day, two days...3?
Dont allow the opening of a parrallel thread so that the people know not to troll/flame if they want to discuss that.
Could be difficult to do, and deleting parrallel threads could be *hmmish*, but Im only suggesting this for major flame outs, or where a good thread really has been made crap by a few.
lock the thread and make the case, I havent really seen many where this would be applicable.
Anyway just and idea.
case by case basis methinks. just reply saying, i've suspended this thread for a couple of days, etc....
Of course delete parallel threads!! Happens all the time...

I do it already. Good threads turn to flames and i just close it off. I dont care how good it was, they ruined it, they can live with having a good discussion die.
