Prometheus reaction

Obviously spoilers.

Major ones.

Whoa, the Replicators have taken over the Asgard homeworld? Interesting plot twist considering the Asgard had taken out the Replicators, or so we thought.
Now they need O'Neill and the Prometheus to rescue their planet.
Nice to see Thor is alive and well. It would suck if we lost that little gray.

Oh yeah, whee, first post on the new ep.

one question

remember when we were first introduced to Hyperdrive and the goa'uld ship didn't use glass as windows, some kind of force field technology cause there was no transparent material that would withstand the force of hyperdrive?

what is the Prometheus using for it's forward windows I wonder, heh

i'll post more later when i see the repeat again

Just a repeat of obvious spoilers...
Can't say I liked how the episode started out. Did enjoy the fact that it was more based on Carter then Jonas. Reporter girl was annoying, though she needed her come-uppance. Once Jack and Teal'c made their appearance it got better, and when Thor beamed over I was ecstatic. It was a good opener for the second part which looks even better, what with the Replicators! Though I was suprised that there wasn't any "We don't negotiate with terrorist" speech that usually comes with circumstances like these. And the fight scene with Jack, Teal'c, and the guy who played Q in Star Trek looked a bit strange, but I can live with that. Just my two cents.

Maybe they had some kind of reinforced plastic or glass? I don't know. I agree on the fight with John DeLancie though. I was like "WTF?" when Teal'C went down so easy and fast and how surprised both seemed that the Goa'uld hopped bodies as if it was some new thing.
I'm more looking forward to the sequel episode than I was to this one.
Also the beginning was kind of repetitive to me. I kept thinking "We've done the reporter bit before, haven't we?"

I liked the episode. Wish we got to keep Goa'uld Simmons.

I have one gripe which spoiled the ending for me. How was Jack and Teal'c able to breathe with the outter door open? Doesn't the air get sucked out too?

Yeah, I thought the show was too Carter focused, but the rest of the plot was good enough for me to over look it.

it was sucking it out, that's why they were also being pulled out the door, the rush of air was 'pushing' them out too... so the air was still in there, it was just escaping really really fast... if it had been any longer all the air would have escaped and then yes they would have died, heh

my long synposis, be prepared

I liked how the show started out on Earth in a parking lot lol, made it seem very down home hehe. Though that reporter sure did know to much right from the start.

I liked Davis in this episode, he was great.

I can?t believe they actually went with the idea to let her see the thing, Jack had the right idea ?an incredibly insane idea? heh.

Why did Hamond choose Carter and Jonas, wouldn?t they want to take all security precautions and send Jack and Tealc along with some WEAPONS just in case lol.

Man the X-303 was HUGE, you know that took a long time to build. So did the Asgard help them out? Or did we just reverse engineer Asgard tech? Or was it not even Asgard at all but only Goa?uld?

The ship looks VERY human built alright, except for the crystals and hyperdrive you couldn?t at all tell it had any alien tech in it at all.

You would think they would have checked the Camera?s crew cases and stuff just to make sure they didn?t bring anything they weren?t suppose to, heh. In the real world they would have been searched prior to entering a secured area like that.

Was it just me or did Jonas know how to operate the X-303 WAY to easily, heh. You?d think the guy helped build it or something haha, he knew all the commands and how to work the computer flawlessly like he grew up with computers or something (which he hadn?t on his planet)

I had no idea the Producer was in on it, that was a cool twist.

Didn?t Carter say the life support systems and structural integrity wasn?t completely installed yet? For those systems to not be working the ship sure took off ok and didn?t experience any problems entering orbit and flying and entering hyperspace, not one structural problem at all. I didn?t think it was that complete at first.

I liked the sounds the ship made when lifting off the ground, great sound effects, and powering up the hyperdrive.

They released Conrad and Simons to easy IMO, you would think they would have escorted them into the ship with a lot of army guys behind them ready to make a trade or something, heh. But no, they just let them walk onto the ship all by themselves just handing them over to the bad guys, heh.

Jonas was all smiley at first, but finally stopped smiling lol loved that

When the ship was taking off did that just not look like something out of Star Wars lol, very cool though, looked like an Asgard ship! The front of it looks like a vacuum cleaner though, hah.

Yes, the fight seen with Goa?uld Simons and Jack and Tealc was WEIRD. It was like it was fast forwaded or run faster then normal speed or something. And looked very strange that way, not normal. Like the film speed was different or something ya know, it was just odd. And boy was that fight seen intense too, very powerfull, he was strong for sure. Nice how they just happened to be by an airlock too huh.

At the end, boy a lot of stuff just happened all at once. First I was thinking oh no, ?Lost in Space SG1? Then all of a sudden Thor shows up! Lol, and we learn they need our help with the Replicators on their home world, a lot of stuff all at once.

I wonder, does that ship have shields and weapons? I guess we?ll find out in the next show, too bad we have to wait until January! Argh

Overall it was an excellent episode?.

Wow. I loved it... Seriously, that's really all I can say. Oh, I do have to say that the first part reminded me of the Stargate novel I JUST finished reading--today, in fact! "The First Amendment" consisted of a reporter being shown top-secret stuff to keep the reporter quiet. Do have to say that I liked the novel just a bit more than tonight's episode.

But, then, Thor showed up, and that did it for me. I'm still new to the whole Stargate thing, so I haven't been properly "introduced" to the character, but from everything I HAVE seen with him (saw part of one episode dealing with the Replicators), I really like him. And I loved the look on Jack's face when Thor showed up.... Jack was practically beaming.

I haven't yet seen the episodes that first featured Simmons, so I just couldn't get into the character... all I could see was a more subtle "Q".

Loved the way Carter MacGyver'ed a way to communicate with Jack and Davis.

I, too, think that fight scene between Jack & Teal'C and Simmons was very... weird. I'd have to agree that it was the speed of the film. It looked like a sped-up slow-mo, if there is such a thing. Just too weird.

All in all, great episode, and the cliffhanger will really be keeping me waiting anxiously for the conclusion. It really sucks that there will be no new episodes 'til January. But, reruns of the older seasons start soon, so I'll have those to fall back on.

Joy

It was nice of them to include an old scene with Daniel in it.

The X303 reminded me of Battlestar Galactica with a crossover of Voyager.

what was with the weird slow-motion scenes? didn't like that part

as far as cliffhangers go, this was a good way to end the half-season. not TOO hanging, but still making me look forward to January.

great (though short) glimpse of daniel!

very MacGuyver-ish, almost too much so

loved jack-as-captain at the end!

the bridge of the ship reminded me of something out of star trek!!
i didnt like the beginning but the ending was good!
the fight scene was kool too although slow it was very kool. and simmoms is dead!!!! yay!
jack really can throw a punch!
did you see his face when he got whacked against the wall...like ouch!
and poor teal'cy on the floor about to get his face split in half!

what was jack playing with on his chair?

and you know the car park...jacks car was there!!!

You know jacks car

Another great ep . Great cliffhanger too... and haha UK get it first
I thought taking over the X303 was a little too easy. You would have thought everyone would have been checked for weapons but otherwise.. brilliant, absolutely fantastic

I liked hearing Simmons`Goa'uld voice becasue I`ve heard John DeLancie`s voice so much when he plays Q. So it was strange to hear it like that.

fcol this to be continued crap will be the end of me

that's the same question I had about the x302 they still haven't addressed it. heh

I guessed the Goa'uld had gone into Simmons. Had a good giggle at Sam's Macgyver-ing too. Jack sitting at the helm of the ship had me laughing too....especially when he complimented Thor on his new body...LOL

Carter: '...I estimate we're at least 1200 light years from earth'
Jack: 'How does that help us?'
Carter: 'Uh it doesn't.'

*snicker*

The slow-mo fighting annoyed me too. Watch it at 120%...it's much better heheh. It's not even real slow motion. It almost looks like they're were trying to make them look like they were fighting in low gravity.

I wonder if the x303 has weapons and shields.

Thought it was a bit dodgy how they caved to the hijackers so easily. Give us simmons and conrad or we blow up nevada...okay made a bit of sense. But then when Simmons demanded the roof to be opened or he blows the hyperdrive, it seemed stupid to me. As if Simmons would ever blow himself up. Oh well. Just my opinion of course.
